Historian to talk about mine disaster (Billings Gazette)

POWELL - Historian and author Jeffrey McNeish will present a free public program about the 1943 Smith Mine disaster, in which 74 men died. This new program from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5 focuses on genealogy’s role in understanding the disaster.

Obituaries sought for genealogy research (Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal)

CORINTH - The Alcorn County Genealogical Society wants to acquire copies of obituaries from the public to expand the group’s ability to help researchers.
